Driver Candidate Privacy Policy and Information
Last Updated: Mars 1st, 2024
Welcome to Lanefinder, as you may expect, to properly perform our services and connect you with jobs and carriers, we collect and use information about you, and we want to be transparent about this. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, and this Privacy Policy describes, among other things, the types of information that we collect about you in the performance of our business, how we use such information, and your privacy rights in relation to the information about you that we handle. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. There is an index below so you can go straight to the relevant sections if you prefer.
Please note that if you are accessing our website, you should also review our Lanefinder Terms of Use, Cookie Policy, Lanefinder Privacy Policy, and if a California resident, the California Privacy Notice, applicable to our website available at www.youcruit.com/privacy.
Terms Used Throughout
In this Privacy Policy, you will be referred to as ‘you.’ When we use ‘us,’ ‘we,’ ‘our,’ or ‘Company,’ we mean Lanefinder. Another term we use from time to time here within is ‘YouCruit.’ You should know our Company is part of YouCruit, an organization of related companies located in the US and subsidiaries of the same ultimate parent company, YouCruit AB (a legal entity based in Sweden). YouCruit provides a niche labor marketplace for the trucking industry through Lanefinder, its web-based site, and through the Lanefinder App (together collectively referred to as "Lanefinder"). Lanefinder seamlessly facilitates meaningful job searches and effortless hiring experiences by providing a trucking only job platform connecting US carriers with drivers seeking jobs and assists in the full hiring life cycle. When referring to the entirety of YouCruit herein, we will say ‘YouCruit.’ When we refer to the other companies within YouCruit, we say our ‘affiliates’ or when applicable, Lanefinder. When we refer to a Lanefinder Portal (‘Lanefinder Portal’) or app (‘App’) herein, we mean a portal or app for our drivers that may be used to leverage our services. When available and utilized, the Lanefinder Portal or App allows you to create a candidate profile and/or search and apply for jobs we post which may match your interests, skills, preferences, and/or experience. Keep in mind this Privacy Policy is about information about people. Such information identifies or relates to you and includes facts about you and opinions about you and that you hold ("I’m a football fan" for example). This type of information is sometimes called ‘Personal Data,’ ‘personal information,’ ‘Personally Identifiable Information,’ or ‘PII.’ We use the term Personal Data in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is not about information about the Company (although sometimes the two overlap).
Types of Personal Data Collected
As a candidate for job opportunities, we collect and use Personal Data about you as part of the recruitment and our partnered carriers’ hiring process in order to evaluate your suitability for a carrier’s posting. The categories of Personal Data that we collect includes, but is not limited to:
your name, contact details, qualifications (education, training courses and work experience), skill sets (for example, mountain driving) and any other information you listed within your application or Customer Account profile;
copies of and documents evidencing your identity and eligibility to work in the United States or other location as applicable;
your profile data (e.g., your name, email address, phone number) if you create an account with us (whether via our website, our App or otherwise);
records of correspondence if you contact us;
feedback about you from our staff and third parties and when you give feedback on others;
your feedback about us and our services through our satisfaction surveys;
photos, videos, or other recordings of your attendance at a video interview or training or similar sessions, when applicable;
information from your public profile on social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), and other public locations (Job Boards, company websites, etc.); and
any other information you provide or which we obtain.
Sensitive Personal Data
As a candidate, you are not required to provide information that may be considered sensitive including your race or ethnic origin or data concerning your health or sexual orientation. If you decide to provide us with sensitive Personal Data, we will handle the information according to the practices identified in this Privacy Policy and applicable law, and we reserve the right to delete the information from our databases. As a candidate, you may be asked about your willingness to complete a drug or background screen or medical examination or whether you require any accommodation in the workplace.
How We Collect Your Personal Data
We often collect Personal Data directly from you. This may include, for example, when you interview, email us, call us, or when you apply for a job posting (whether via our website, via our App, or otherwise). We also collect Personal Data about you from third parties such as references you provide and/or service providers who assist us with our services, such as companies providing driver verifications, as well as individual carriers you may work with as a registered driver on Lanefinder. We also collect Personal Data about you from social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), company websites, and other publicly available sources.
Why?
As a candidate for driver opportunities, we collect and use your Personal Data for the following purposes:
finding potential suitable jobs/assignments for you to apply for or that you may be interested in or facilitating the process of applying for jobs/assignments. This may include for example sending your application or application to prospective carriers for their consideration and keeping you informed of future job opportunities by email, telephone, mail, text message, n-app messages, and/or other communication methods (note that messaging and data rates may apply for any SMS, MMS, and other electronic communications (typically, this is based on your phone provider’s service plan));
for direct messaging via e-mail, text messaging, telephone, or otherwise;
to further develop, test and improve our website, Lanefinder Portal, App, or other existing or new systems/processes to better serve you;
to perform studies and statistical and analytical research, for example, to compare the effectiveness of our placement of drivers between different geographies and seek to identify factors that can influence any differences we identify;
to transfer data to third parties (see below);
when necessary, to comply with any of the Company’s legal or contractual obligations;
in order to: i) promote the security and protection of people, premises, systems and assets; ii) monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures; iii) administer communications and other systems used by us or YouCruit (including internal contact databases); iv) investigate or respond to incidents and complaints; and/or v) to the extent applicable law allows.
Are You Required to Provide Your Personal Data to Us?
You are not required to provide your Personal Data to us, but it would not be possible for us to register you on the Lanefinder Website or App, allow you to apply for jobs, work with you, contact carriers for jobs, or provide our benefits and services to you, if you do not provide us with a required minimum amount of Personal Data. It also may limit the services that you can receive from us if you choose to provide us with limited Personal Data.
How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Data?
We retain your Personal Data for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, based on customary industry practices and in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable.
For data access requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily usable and should allow you to send the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance, for example, through an Excel or JSON file format.
We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the verifiable consumer request calls for a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

When YouCruit acts as a service provider, it will be subject to a separate services agreement, as applicable, executed by the Carrier, which expressly incorporates the Lanefinder Privacy Policy.
